Papa: Manny’s father, Latino male (or black who could pass for Latino), late 30s to 40s but must be able to convincingly play the father of a teen. Depressed, helpless. Hope: 60s, alto/belter, Midwestern, comedic character actress, madly in love with her husband Earl. Earl: 60s, baritone, Midwestern, comedic character actor, deeply in love with his wife Hope. The Architect: 30s-40s, baritone, an ambitious artist and slightly sinister addict with a dangerous obsession with beauty and youth. The Showgirl: 20-30, Old Vegas feminine beauty personified, singing experience not required. Maintenance Man: 20-30, baritone, scruffy, sense of peace, strong presence, blue collar, shape shifter. First performance: on/about September 28 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Be warmed and ready to dance. Prepare short routines of Cha Cha, Jive, Waltz & Slow Foxtrot will be requested.
