New York Stage Casting Update: Jan 11th

Auditions will be held by appointment only Thursday, January 13 and Friday, January 14 at Looking Glass Theatre, 422 West 57th Street, NYC. Callbacks Tuesday January 18. Looking Glass Theatre is casting Three By the Sea, a new children’s show by Donna Latham. Julia Martin, director. Daytime rehearsals on Fridays, weekends and some weekdays begin January 21; performs March 5 – April 10 (Saturday & Sunday afternoons only) in NYC. Seeking non-union talent only to cast a dynamic and imaginative ensemble of 3-4 male and 4-5 female actors (many will double roles.) Actors should have interest and/or some training in physical theatre. All types and ethnicities welcome.

Seeking:
Pirate (M)—a rough-and-tumble, parrot-toting buccaneer. Seeking an actor with strong improvisational skills.

Coyote (M)—brash, hungry, has gusto, but is ultimately outwitted by his own greed.

Rabbit (F)—a 5-year-old girl at heart, but ultimately outsmarts the coyote, proving brain over brawn.

Foghorn Franny (F)—quite a gal, with a pair of lungs on her “Wee-ooh”. Washed up on the shores of Maine from a shipwreck, she doesn’t fit in. She is determined to get her father back who she lost at sea.

Taj (M)—a sweet surfer stuck on the Maine shore. Befriends Frannie.

Sydney (F) —a bully who scorns Frannie until fate forces her to realize the error of her ways.

Mina (F)—a mermaid who turns human to marry a man, but never fits in and finally returns to the sea

Paddy Fitzpatrick (M)—a lonely, tenderhearted and misguided fisherman.

Storyteller 1 (F)—an elderly Irish sea wife.

Storyteller 2 (F)—an indigenous woman.

Storyteller 3 (M)—a young, loquacious chowder seller. Plus others!
