Actress for Ensemble
The OBIE Award-wining Paper Bag Players, a five-person ensemble theater company, which performs original musical theater for children, seek a replacement for an Actress for its '08 summer season. Looking for performers with a good comedic sense and who can sing and move well. Open to all ethnicities. The performances will begin July 6th and run for two weeks. Salary $500 weekly plus a limited rehearsal period. Equity or Non-Equity (if Equity: Equity Guest Artist Contract). Director: Judith Martin. Stonewall Stories Actors
Two male actors are needed for Carol Polcovar's prize winning play Stonewall Stories to be performed at New York's LGBT Community Center during Gay Pride Week. All performances will be benefits for "Sylvia's Place", a shelter for homeless LGBT teenagers. Seeking: TOMMY, a teenage runaway from a New Jersey blue collar community. Tommy is an idealistic young man, still in awe of what is available to him in New York City. SYLVIA RIVERA, legendary sexual outlaw and social and political activist. "Sylvia's Place" is named in her honor. Sylvia has been described as a combination of Che Guevara and Harpo Marx. The play is a memory play and actors of any race between the ages of eighteen and forty will be considered. The play will be performed under the Theatre Authority Benefit Regulations (Clearance Pending). Rehearsals will begin in early June. All performers will be paid an honorarium. Manhattan Rep. Summer Fest
Seeking actors for the Manhattan Repertory Theatre Summer Fest. Casting Director: Danielle Bauman. Non-Union. Duration: June 15 - Aug. 10. Pay: credit/copy/meal. Please submit to: mouslie@aol.com. Synopsis: All Frank asks is to be left alone in his new house. But some members of his community conspire to force him out, one way or another -- whether he likes it or not. A two-act comedy of menace exploring the virtues of loneliness and the danger of manners. Seeking: FRANK MASON: Recently released from prison. "Recovered" pedophile. Keeps to himself or at least tries to. Late 20's - early 30's. WINSTON: Franks Parole Officer. Dry humor, a bit jaded due to the nature of his job. He is sick and tired of baby-sitting criminals but if he doesn't do it who will? Character is supposed to be in his 50's but someone who has the chops and a good make-up kit can play this role. DEBRA: Franks neighbor. His exact opposite- extremely social. Is afraid of silence and being alone. She has a daughter so she needs to look like she should be in her late 20's-early 30's. ED: Winton's "assistant." He is also a "recovered" man. Large in stature with a wild look in his eyes- a volcano that could erupt at any moment. Should look older and be physically larger than Frank. MELISSA: Debra's daughter. Loves being in dance recitals and having her picture taken. She appears twice briefly. She is in her pre-teens.

Auditions are being held for Your Theatre, Inc's production of Anton Chekhov's The Three Sisters, scheduled to be staged January 14—24, 2009. Director Edward J. Maguire must fill the following 14 roles: Andrei (age 24) brother of the three sisters, Olga (age 28) eldest of the three sisters and matriarchal figure of the Prozorov family, Masha (age 21) middle sister who married her husband, when she was 18, Irina (age 20) youngest sister, Natasha (age 26) Andrei's love interest and later h is wife, Vershinin (age 45) lieutenant lolonel in charge of the local battery, Tuzenbach (age 23) lieutenant in the army who often philosophizes impress Irina and be part of the group, Solyony (age 26) captain in the arm who is also in love with Irina, Chebutykin ( age 60 ) a doctor in the army, Fedotik (24) a sub-lieutenant who hangs around the house and tries to express his love to Irina, Rode (24) another sub-lieutenant, Kulygin (age 24) Masha's husband, Ferapont (age 74) partially deaf door-keeper at local council and A nfisa (age 82) A nurse in the family who has worked forever with the Prozorovs. For additional information, call YTI at 508-993 0772, or e-mail ytinc@verizon.net.
