Stages on the Sound - Photo/Resume Request
Stages on the Sound is requesting pictures and resumes of union and non-union actors of all ethnicities who are immigrants or children of immigrants for a collaborative fall project. Only actors excited about a highly physical, personal and ensemble-developed project need submit. Artistic Director Mike Wamser will direct. October rehearsals with a November run. Open auditions are being held for Arena Stage’s production of Next To Normal in Washington, DC. Music/Lyrics: Tom Kitt. Book: Brian Yorkey. Director: Michael Greif. 1st rehearsal: October 23. Runs November 21 - January 18 in DC. The producer will run all aspects of this call. Equity audition procedures are not in effect, and no Equity Monitor will be provided. Prepare a brief pop/rock or contemporary musical theater song that shows range. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. A cappella singing will not be allowed. Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together. Presented at Second Stage Theatre in NYC in spring 2008. Seeking: Note: All listed characters are Caucasian. Gabe: Seeking male actor to play age 16. Dashing, bright, witty, kind, athletic; everything a mother would want. Performer must have a strong rock tenor with falsetto. Gabe / Henry Understudy: Seeking male actor to play age 16. Performer covers Gabe (see description above) and Henry: Mellow musician, Gen-Y genius and coffee-shop philosopher.
