Friday, February 19, 2010, 11 AM — Auditions begin. Pearl Studios, 500 Eighth Avenue, 12th Floor, NYC. Equity audition procedures are NOT in effect. No Equity monitor provided. Producer runs all aspects of the audition. Prepare a brief pop song or disco song. Bring sheet music for your song; a piano accompanist will be provided. Bring picture and resume, stapled together. You will be required to audition in full costume and make-up. Changing facilities will be provided. You may be asked to return to dance in heels that afternoon.

OPEN Auditions (Equity/non) are being held for the Toronto/Broadway run of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Production Contract $1,605 week minimum. Casting: Telsey + Company. 1st rehearsal (Toronto run): Late August 2010, in NYC. 1st preview in Toronto: October 12, 2010 at Princess of Wales Theatre. Twelve-week Toronto engagement. Broadway Opening Night: March 6, 2011 at a Broadway house TBA. NOTE 1: Actors of all ethnicities are welcome to attend. NOTE 2: Based on the Oscar-winning movie THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, the musical tells the funny and moving story of three drag performers who set off from Sydney across the Australian desert in a battered, old tour bus, christened Priscilla. The show contains over 20 classic pop and disco hits such as “I Will Survive” and “I Love the Nightlife”.

Seeking: Drag Artistes: Males, 20s – 40s. Fabulous drag queens with prior drag experience. Great comic hosting ability, live singing voice, and movement ability. The ability to perform a convincing Tina Turner routine is a plus. Ensemble.

Curious Frog Theatre Company is holding auditions for The Maids by Genet, with multicultural, nontraditional casting, performance in unconventional, site-specific location TBD. Rehearsals will be week nights and weekends in various locations in Brooklyn, Astoria and Manhattan, starting second week of March. Small stipend paid. Curious Frog's mission is to present new, modern and classical works with the goal of showing a new, multicultural perspective through non-traditional casting that does not hinder a work but rather enhances the work in an innovative manner and fosters fresh perceptions.
