The Thomaston Opera House will hold Open Auditions for a Main Stage Production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Callbacks will be held Wednesday, May 7, if needed. Production will run July 19 - August 10 for 11 performances. All roles are open to audition. All auditioning will be asked to sing (bring sheet music if your selection is not from Disney's Beauty and the Beast), read from the script and come prepared to dance (bring shoes if you have them). Stuart Howard Associates is holding open auditions for Non Union actors/dancers for the new Broadway Production of West Side Story for Tony, Maria, Jets and Sharks. Production begins rehearsals in October and does an out-of-town tryout in Washington, D.C. during December, before beginning previews on Broadway in February. AEA Production Contract $1509/week. All actor/dancers must look 16-20, but legally be at least 16 years of age prior to first day of rehearsal. Male dancers: bring jazz sneakers and knee pads, Female Dancers: bring shoes with a heel. The Fela Kuti Project - Dancers Who Sing

The Fela Kuti Project is holding an open audition for its upcoming Developmental Workshop. This audition is for African, African-American, or people of African descent/mixed race. Directed and Choreographed by Bill T. Jones. Seeking: Male and Female Dancers with a Modern, African, Contemporary, and/or Jazz dance background. Especially seeking male dancers of substantial size. Must have ability to sing. Acrobatics, aerial work and clown training preferred. Playing a musical instrument (especially percussion) is a plus. If you do play a musical instrument, bring it with you and be prepared to play. Dancers should be warmed up and ready to dance at call times. You will dance barefoot. Also, dancers may or may not be asked to sing, so be prepared with an African chant of your own choosing, as well as a song that shows off voice and range. Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided, but you may be asked to sing a cappella. Bring a current picture and resume, stapled together. This NON-AEA Developmental Workshop will take place between Mon. June 16 - Sat. July 20 and require availability 10 AM — 6 PM, 6 days/week for 4-5 weeks with possible evenings the last week. Paid work.
