Radio City Christmas Spectacular - Multiple auditions

All auditions at Radio City Music Hall, 44 W. 51st St. (btwn. 5th and 6th Ave), stage entrance. NYC.

Madison Square Garden Entertainment will be conducting auditions for Rockettes, male and female dancers, male and female vocalists, male and female singers who dance well, little people performers, and children to perform in the 2008 Radio City Christmas Spectacular productions in cities which include New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Buffalo, Cleveland, and Nashville. Rehearsals begin in October and early November (schedules vary) and performances run through the end of December/early January. Travel and housing provided for productions outside of New York ONLY (No housing or travel is provided for performers in the New York show). All performers must be at least 18 years of age to audition (Children age: boys 7-14, girls 10-14) and must currently be legally permitted to work in the United States. Tutoring is provided for all children. MSGE is committed to racially diverse casting for all roles. The auditions will be conducted by Supervising Director Linda Haberman. If cast, you will be offered an AGVA contract. Both union and non-union will be seen. AGVA members will be seen first. Tues. May 6: Rockettes - 10 AM. Rockettes must be between 5'6" and 5'10" tall (measurements will be taken), and must be proficient in jazz and tap dance. CALLBACKS: Weds. May 7. Mon. May 19: Female dancers - 10 AM. Be prepared to learn ballet and jazz combinations. If you also sing, bring sheet music. Pointe work is a plus (but not required). Bring pointe shoes to the audition, if you work en pointe. CALLBACKS: Tues. May 20. Male dancers - 2 PM. Be prepared to learn ballet and jazz combinations. If you also sing, please bring sheet music. CALLBACKS: Tues. May 20. Weds. May 21: Male vocalists and male singers who dance well - 10 AM. Both male vocalists and male singers who dance well must prepare an up-tempo song and a ballad in their key for the audition. Bring sheet music. No recorded music is allowed. Male vocalists must have great voice and style with a wide vocal range, be proficient at singing close harmony, and be able to move well. Male singers who dance well must be able to sing and dance and will be taught choreography. CALLBACKS: Thurs. May 22. Female vocalists and female singers who dance well - 1 PM. Both female vocalists and female singers who dance well must prepare an up-tempo song and a ballad in their key for the audition. Bring sheet music. No recorded music is allowed. Children (boys 7-14, girls 10-14 years of age) must be 4'10" tall or under (measurements will be taken). Both boys and girls must have some jazz dance ability. In addition, girls must be strong in ballet and have at least one year of experience en pointe. Girls must bring their pointe shoes with them to audition. There will be no exceptions. Note: girls should look more like little girls than young women. Both boys and girls may be asked to sing a song, which they will be taught. CALLBACKS: Same day. Dave Clemmons Casting is holding an open call (for singers who play the required instruments) for a non-union national tour of Sweeney Todd. Produced by Networks Presentations. Originally reconceived by John Doyle. Directed by Adam John Hunter. Musical Supervision by David Loud. Original Music & Lyrics: Stephen Sondheim. Book: Hugh Wheeler. Rehearsals begin August/September; tour opens end of September and is booked through June 2009. All positions are paid. Note: This innovative production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's musical masterpiece features a multi-talented, musical instrument-playing cast. It opened on Broadway during the 2005-2006 season. Prepare a classical piece with your instrument. Also prepare a short song to sing in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided. Young, modern romantic. A sailor who meets and helps Sweeney on his return to London. He falls in love with Johanna. Strong tenor or baritenor singing voice. Tobias: Male, 20s, any ethnicity. Instruments: excellent violinist, good clarinetist, piano. Young and vulnerable. Assistant to Pirelli, he is an orphan. He comes to view Mrs. Lovett as a surrogate mother figure. He is the glass through which this production is viewed. Strong tenor singing voice. Beadle: Male, 30s-40s, any ethnicity. Instruments: excellent accordion, piano, and flute player. An Italian traveling salesperson/scam artist. Also plays nurse/overseer in insane asylum. Long-winded and brazen. Strong-mezzo-soprano or singing voice. Beggar Woman: Female, 30s-40s, any ethnicity. Instruments: excellent clarinetist, good pianist. Once glamorous, she's a mentally unstable homeless woman and prostitute. It turns out that she is the wife of Sweeney. Strong soprano singing voice (to Db) with strong belt voice. Fogg: Male or female (30s-50s), any ethnicity. Instruments: excellent upright double blass player. Plays with low 'c' extension. The stern head of the Asylum for the mentally insane where Johanna gets put away. Sings in ensemble numbers. Strong baritone singing voice.

Ocean City Pops/Theatre Company is seeking male singer/dancers for its 2008 Summer Broadway Series production of 42nd Street. Ensemble males and Billy Lawler needed. Kids of the Arts is a non-profit theatrical company that produces professional quality productions and donates the proceeds to charity. This year we are doing Peter Pan with a cast of 80 performers, including 8 who have been on Broadway. The show will include a live orchestra, as well as flying by ZFX. We are looking for a male between 17-21 years old to play the role of Captain Hook. Must be a strong singer and actor, experience is necessary. Height should be at least 5'10".
